Bupa Global offers a range of enhanced health-insurance plans, each with a personal healthcare concierge and a wealth of holistic treatments

Bupa Global, the premium health insurance arm of Bupa, offers several different levels of cover to its customers around the world, and now Bupa Global Private Clients has been launched. This enhanced service combines Bupa Global’s gold-standard medical insurance plans with health-management and prevention expertise. It can be used anywhere in the world, and clients are assigned a personal relationship manager to provide seamless support.

The Ultimate package is the highest level of insurance, providing global cover with no overall annual limits. It includes private day-to-day and hospital cover and a focus on a more holistic approach to health. The package enables a complete private patient journey for physio, osteopathy, naturopathy, dietetic guidance, mental health and much more, with direct access to private specialists, and no referrals needed. Clients are encouraged to stay in good health through annual screenings, which could include prevention therapies such as vitamin therapy, cryotherapy and genetic cancer screenings.

“The relationship manager will understand your lifestyle, your medical conditions and even your travel destinations,” says Sheldon. “They can help navigate which doctors to visit around the world, with minimal admin. In the current climate, being there as a reassuring support has been beneficial for our clients and they have really valued it. They are able to call their relationship manager to discuss minor concerns, non-elective surgery, alternative treatments and even to get advice on preventative lifestyle issues.” The highest level package will cover mental-health care, and even medical and non-medical evacuation to their country of residence if the treatment they need is not available where they are in the world.

“The Ultimate package has virtually no limits on treatment covered – it even covers laser eye surgery,” explains Sheldon. “Our clients can outsource their healthcare needs to us, and we help them manage their healthcare issues including surgery and recovery. We also offer support for a range of prevention measures, such as check-ups and telephone-based triaging with a senior clinician. Our private client consultants will strive to assist our clients with any healthcare matter.”

The relationship manager acts as a health concierge, offering direct and personal guidance to the client. “We are dealing with a very personal and private aspect of someone’s life so having a trusted relationship makes that much easier,” says Sheldon. “We get a lot of referrals because people enjoy the personalized aspect of the relationship and the service, and they tell their friends.
