An island paradise
At Fiyavalhu Maldives, guests experience the natural wonders of the Indian Ocean from the comfort of a secluded luxury resort
Who would not love to immerse themselves beneath tropical waters to swim with whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays in the perfect crystalline sea of an island paradise? What could be a once-in-a-lifetime event is a daily experience for visitors to Fiyavalhu Maldives, a luxury resort on the island of Mandhoo in the South Ari Atoll of the Maldives. “We are a five-star resort in a location that is particularly good for water sports and diving,” says Dr Abdullah Zahir, founder of the resort. “We can see manta ray and whale sharks, and we have some amazing dive points. We are about 30 minutes by seaplane from the international airport on a totally secluded part of this inhabited island.”
Located around 100km southwest of the capital Malé, a short scenic flight from Villa International Airport, Fiyavalhu Maldives offers an all-island experience in a natural and private alcove of Mandhoo. Guests have a choice of 44 luxury villas, which include immaculate garden retreats surrounded by lush vegetation, as well as accommodation directly overlooking the beach. There are two restaurants offering local and international cuisine – one providing all-day dining, the other a buffet service – or enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars. Resort facilities include an infinity pool, a kids’ pool and play area, a gym and games room, while there is access to a private beach where a range of water sports are available for guests.
As well as the facilities within the resort, dedicated staff help visitors take full advantage of the island paradise that surrounds them. This could mean diving – which can be arranged both for novices and for more experienced divers – or exploring the local islands and beaches on a boat to meet locals or go snorkelling and swimming.
“Everything our visitors need can be taken care of,” says Dr Zahir. “We can respond to any dietary needs and personal requirements. Our assigned guest representatives take care of each visitor, from organising a private dinner or cinema experience on the beach to hiring a boat that can take you to a secluded island. They can arrange fishing or diving trips, and they know the best locations to experience the beautiful nature we are lucky to have on these islands.”
